“I inherited a remote piece of undeveloped land in southern Texas with no public utilities or even a road to access it. Carlos Martinez contacted me regarding my interest in in selling the property while doing research on available properties in the area for a client. I agreed to sell the property for $12,000 and entered into an Unimproved Property Contract with a buyer, as arranged by Carlos. It all looked so simple... It turned out that the land was not listed in the will of the relative who gave it to me, and it was also not listed in the will of the relative who gave it to her. What was thought to be simple was actually very complicated and involved lawyers, title companies, surveyors, notaries, Cameron County Staff and 5 living members of my family - and more. It took 7 months to settle and sell. Carlos hung in there through the whole ordeal. His tenacity, attention to detail and follow through were exceptional.
